I purchased this screen protector for our new 40 inch Bravia. There was a dark mark on the box and a small chip on the protector lower edge. It was very hard to notice and we decided not to return it. I guess that's from the Christmas shipping rush.

I had my daughter help me fix it on the TV and I never took it off since. It's somewhat heavier that what I expected but it was absolutely clear when we removed the sticky paper protection and the picture looks great.

Very nice and fits well on the TV. My husband wasn't pleased we had to spend another 9 after purchasing 0 TV but is happy he doesn't chase our 2 year old when he gets close to the TV.

LG 32LB9D 32-inch 720p LCD HDTV Review

I love this set. I found it at a local pawn shop, perfect condition, and obviously got an excellent deal. I've used a couple of other HD sets, and this one's by far my favorite.

First and foremost: Gaming. I see another review on here was bashing the gaming on this set, but the PS3 run through HDMI at 720p looks beautiful. I've played CoD4, Battlfield: Bad Company, MGS4, Motorstorm, GTA4, and Warhawk on this set, all intense action oriented games. No blurring, no artifacts, looks realll good. The only thing that looks slightly bad is the edges on everything are a little pixellated, but it did this on the other sets as well (an 0 Sharp and 0 Sony of the same size). I'm not really sure what set he hooked it up to that looked better, but I'd like to know.

Second, SD cable. Like a lot of people, I haven't made the switch to HD programming yet. But SD channels look as good as you can expect. The Zoom1 ratio is really nice, doesn't look stretched at all, but it cuts things off sometimes (it's really only noticeable when there are words on screen - credits, titles, logos, etc.) Stuff I really don't care about seeing anyway. I'm not a fan of having big black bars on the side of my screen, so I really like this ratio. Image quality seems to vary a lot between channels, but it never looks bad.

Third, as a monitor. I was, in fact, so impressed when I hooked my laptop up through VGA that I've decided to build an HTPC to use with the LG as a monitor. Granted, I'm going to use a video card with DVI/HDMI output with a DVI to HDMI cable so I can pass HDMI sound to my receiver, but anyway. It looked good. I'm probably going to buy a long VGA Cable so I can hook up the laptop to the monitor and use it in a Dual Monitor set-up, as well. The max resolution supported on the tv is 1366 x 768, which is perfect for me, but I bet PC gamers will be wanting a much higher resolution... It's definitely not for playing Crysis at max settings. Still, it's not gonna look bad, either.

There are an absolute load of inputs, 3 HDMI, 2 Component, VGA, etc. I don't think you'll ever find yourself not being able to connect something you want to. There's also a Digital Out for audio.

The Remote can't program my Sony Receiver... irritating. I'm trying to find a universal remote that will let me switch inputs on the LG and control the volume of my receiver. There are 8 or 10 codes for Sony Audio, but none of them work. My receiver is a STR-K790, by the way.

(I can't comment on the speaker quality of the TV, since I haven't used it at all.)

All in all, it's a definitely a great set, and arguably the best budget HDTV around. The only issue at all I have with it is black-levels, but really it's minor. (see the 24 and 165 in the top left corner here? http://research.stowers-institute.org/efg/R/Color/Chart/ColorsChart2.jpg
The 165 is the black level on my set, with the gloss frame as the 24. You CAN get it darker, by adjusting the backlight level and such... I'm not much of a videophile so I'm not worried about it. For a casual user, you're only gonna notice it in pitch black scenes where people have the lights off, and the little black bars on the side. I just suggest using Zoom1.)

For the price, a good value. It works as intended. Holes and hardware (screws furnished) lined up well. Even with a small TV it is a two person job. Most important is to use a level for installation as once unit is on the wall the "head" can not be rotated. Outside of that slight problem this is a good unit for the price. Package came right to house in two days via USPS, standard shipping. Hard to believe isn't it? Express shipping would have cost more and probably would not have arrived any sooner.

I paid , screwed it to the wall, screwed the brackets to the back of my 42" panasonic plasma and hung it on the wall. It took about 10 minutes and I haven't had a single problem with it. I've seen similar tilt wall mounts for sale for 50 or even a hundred bucks and I just can't imagine why anyone would pay that. I admit I was a little concerned about the build quality, I mean if it were to fail, that's a lot of money crashing to the ground. But the truth is, if you use a stud finder and screw it to a stud, this things not going anywhere. One of the best purchases I've made on amazon. As I add more flat panels, I'll buy more cheetah mounts.

I'm writing this review after owning this TV since it was put on store shelves in 2007. I have had no problems out of it, aside from the glitch that was in the original firmware. When looking for a TV at that time my goal was not to break two thousand for a 42 inch 1080p, and also have 1080p input via the VGA due to the lack of HDMI on the XBOX 360 at that time. I will list some positive, and negative points of this TV:

Pros:
-Support 1080p over component, VGA, and HDMI.
-Vivid colors and very crisp picture quality.
-Handles SD content very well.

Cons:
-Black Level is not deep.
-"Dynamic Contrast" is very obvious when doing it's task, is best when off.
-HDMI has issues with the Pre-June 2007 firmware and PC mode.
-The noise reduction filter is lackluster at best.

Additional Points:
-BAD CUSTOMER SUPPORT!
Thanks to the AVSForums, it was discovered the HDMI issue with PC mode over HDMI was a firmware issue. This issue could be resolved by turning the TV off and back on when using the HDMI, but that is not a very convenient solution. When contacting customer support about this, they not only lied about there being a newer firmware, but I was also told by one of the agents that I was "making up" these issues because they had the TV and did not have any of the issues I was having >.>...I was able to fix the issue at a later time due to someone on the AVSForums sharing a unlinked webpage on the LG site having firmware upgrades and instructions. Although, this was not shared until about 1 year after owning the TV.

Breakdown:
When this TV came out, it was the only TV under two thousand with 1080p support on component, VGA, and HDMI. I am a happy owner of this TV and the overall quality and build of this TV is great, but at its current pricetag on Amazon (new and used) it is not worth the cost. With the same money you can buy a better TV that isn't almost 2 years old and outdated based on the newer sets.

Reason for Rating:
Even though the TV may be outdated if you are looking for a TV now, the fact that it is and has been a great quality TV. After almost 2 years of using this TV, it has earned a 4 star rating based on it's overall performance.

The TV came as promised. Very quick actually. No issues with packing. Set-up was pretty easy. Getting the picture quality up to the same quality as my girlfriends Sharp Aquos has not been easy though.

I started by swapping out the HD cable box, and, then had the cable company come out to the house to check the signalling. I upgraded to HDMI cabling but while the LG has a very good picture, i don't feel it is as high quality as other reviewers had suggested.

The remote works well, easy to figure out.

Overal all nice, but not superior.
